Titan are through to the grand final at ASUS ROG Winter following a 2-0 victory over PENTA Sports (16-14 on de_cache, 16-0 on de_inferno).

Fresh off an impressive day in Helsinki, with wins over Virtus.pro and HellRaisers, PENTA came out strongly on the first map of this best-of-three series, de_cache, winning the opening three rounds, and they could have got a four-round lead early on if it was not for Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans denying Kevin "kRYSTAL" Amend the 1-on-3 clutch in A.

Titan strung three rounds together to equalize the match 3-3, but then PENTA crawled back into the game and got three rounds of their own to get a 6-3 lead. Dan "apEX" Madesclaire, with a triple kill in the 10th round and a 1-on-2 clutch in the 11th round, put Titan back in the game as the French side turned the score around and were sitting on a 9-6 lead at the break.

The second half began with quite a bold move from PENTA following a B push from Titan. With the bomb down and in a 2-on-3 situation, the Germans decided to push through a smoke to catch their opponents off-guard, a strategy that world perfectly.

apEx had a lot of crucial kills throughout the series

PENTA were then surprised on the eco by Titan, who went on to take a 12-8 lead. Some great defensive work in A by Timo "Spiidi" Richter, who got three kills in that bombsite, allowed the Germans to pull one back, but their economy was then completely broken by Kenny "kennyS" Schrub, who won a 1-on-2 clutch in B to complete a four-kill round.

Titan were now on the verge of picking up the win, but PENTA refused to throw in the towel and took the map down to the last round, which eventually went the Frenchmen’s way.

On de_inferno, PENTA, who started out on the Terrorist side, went for a textbook B push in the pistol round but were completely slaughtered by Titan's three-men stack in the site. That round ended up being a prelude to what about to come, as the Frenchmen gave their opponents no chance as CT, picking up a whopping 15-0 lead with great performances from apEX and kennyS, both of whom had over 20 kills.

In the second half, PENTA still tried to get anything out of this map, but they also fell short in the pistol result, resulting in a 0-16 loss, a hard blow for a team that had acquitted themselves so well on the first map and in the group stage.
